3.3 CHIPS: HTTP and URIs

Get the code

Starter code for this assignment is in the public repo saasbook/hw-http-intro.

View this repo on GitHub.

Using a private repository

If your instructor has created a private repo for you, they will tell you the URL to that repository. Clone that repository using the provided URL. It may be empty. If so, we recommend you set an upstream remote to the starter code and instructions:

cd <your-repo>
git remote add upstream https://github.com/saasbook/hw-http-intro.git
git pull upstream main
git push origin main

Replace <your-repo> with the directory of your cloned private repository. origin points to your private repo; upstream points to the public starter repo. If you use an SSH URL for your private repo, see GitHub SSH keys for setup instructions.

Cloning the public repository

If your instructor has not provided a private repo, clone the starter code:

git clone https://github.com/saasbook/hw-http-intro.git

or fork your own copy first with the GitHub CLI:

gh repo fork saasbook/hw-http-intro --clone
